I have always wondered about the people who get a MBBS degree after 5 to 6 years of hardship and then crack the CAT to get into IIMs. By the time they passout from IIM it would be around 7 to 8 years in the career benchmark to start earning a buck. The best match is to be a IIMA grad with an IIT background. But most of the things in life doesnt happen in the best way. One of the best routes is by getting educated in DPS, Delhi or KV or anyother reputed CBSE school and starting his/her IIT plans right from 9th grade or else after finishing 12thgrade, joining B.com in any reputed universitites in the country and then getting into IIMA. This option requires only 5 years of his/her life and after that he/she might see a lot of bux in the Management world. The cgpa doesn’t matter how low they are until you crack CAT and GD. Only in the PI you need to answer valid reasons to your poor scores in UG. You may be a average student in your Acads, but you must have exceptional reading and speaking capabilities to survive the WIMWIian life. After that once you are inside the IIMs they are considering only the cgpa for the summer placements and it would be relatively easier to get a good score in B.com than an IITian. The most important thing is that you have completed your Bachelors Degree in a year less than that of an IITian. The main drawback of a non-IITian is that you may not be good at analytical approach but an IITian has this brilliant quality which is mostly required to survive in IIMA. Another good news is that, as about 90 to 95 percent of the IIMs juntas are from engineering background, he/she could stand unique among the crowd.

After I finished my 1st year exams, I started watching Prison Break and it is one of the best thrilling serials of all time. Though i happened to watch only the Season 1, later i couldnt get a chance to view the other two seasons. I watched the whole 22 episodes in a week which was broadcasted for a year in FOX. The screenplay of the serial seems to be very fast as you get a experience of watching a two hour movie. I am writing this blog only after watching the first season alone, so i dont know what the story in the season 2 and 3. The plot is about the hero Scofield who is graduated as a structural engineer and can do math calculations perfectly. He is sent inside the prison to help another prisoner named Lincoln Burrows, who is accused for the murder Vice Prisident’s brother of United States. Lincoln was nothing but the brohter of Scofield. Scofield looks to be calculative in his every step he makes and that makes the serial a thrilling one in each and every minute. Scofield sought the help of his six inmates in the prison to work out hos masterplan. Although it has similarities with the classic film “The Great Escape”, but Prison Break is something different and a good creative thinking by the director Paul Scheuring. They had miss understanding between the inmates and finally a six of them managed to escape. This serial had the most number of viewers in United States of about 12.1 millions. In the September fall, they are going to broadcast the fourth season of Prison Break.

I got a chance to visit the prestigious IIMA as my brother got selected to study among the 2007 PGP batch. We all started by Navajeevan Express on June 17, 2007. It took the whole day of June 18 and we reached Ahmedabad at 7pm. The sun hasnt set yet and it was brighter as evening. We reached IIM, Vastrapur by 8pm via autorickshaw and on the way we drank a cup of tea in a road shop. My brother approached Mr.Jones and he gave him the key to Room no:6 in Dorm 23. Actually Block 23 is located in New campus and for that need to walk through the 132-feet underpass and in the meanwhile my brother got his alloted room in Dorm 18 Room no:2 which is in the old campus. We ate our dinner at the IIMA canteen. On the next day morning we went to my brother’s room at Block 18, cleaned it and made it look neat. We had our afternoon meal at the canteen that is exactly opposite to class room 9. Later in the evening, we went to a shopping market in Ahm and purchased some things like pillow, bed sheet and other necessary goodies. After returning we ate and slept in Dorm 23. On June 20, my brother approached the SBI bank for his educational loan and it took the most of the day and on the next day morning, my brother went to collect his first term books. In the evening at 4pm we got a chance to hear the speech of Dr.Atul Dholakia, the former director of IIMA. He presented the statistics of the IIMA and said that since 2001, IIMA ranks the No:1 B-school among the Top B-schools in Asia. After the speech, we got to meet some of the tamilian gangs in IIMA. On June 21, 6am we started our return journey to chennai and reached chennai on June 22, 4pm. I enjoyed that trip and its afterall a trip for me and nothing else. After that visit, I made up my mind to crack CAT 2010 and get into that IIMA Heaven…
